Child Safety Reporting and Intervention Process

ÇOHAM adopts an approach that prioritizes the best interests of the child in addressing neglect, abuse, violence, and other child safety risks that may arise in activities conducted with children.
Situations Requiring Reporting:
Behaviors that endanger the physical or psychological safety of children, suspicions of neglect and abuse, violence, threats, discrimination, and violations of personal rights are considered within the scope of child safety.
Reporting Principles:
When a risk or suspicion of violation related to child safety is encountered, the child's safety is given priority.
Notification obligations arising from legislation are immediately communicated to the relevant authorities.
Information and registration processes within the university do not delay or replace notifications that must be made to authorized public institutions.
Emergency Application
: In an emergency situation threatening the life or safety of a child, assistance is requested through the 112 Emergency Call Center.
For social support and guidance regarding child neglect and abuse, the ALO 183 Social Support Line and the relevant Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services can be contacted.
Depending on the nature of the incident, notification obligations to law enforcement, the Public Prosecutor's Office, and other authorized institutions are fulfilled.
Communication with the Child:
Security concerns expressed by the child are listened to carefully and without judgment.
The child is not repeatedly forced to make statements. Investigations or evaluations falling within the purview of the competent authorities are not undertaken by center staff.
The child's privacy is respected, and personal information is shared only with authorized personnel to the extent necessary. Child safety risks related to the activities of
the Institutional Monitoring
Center are assessed by authorized institutional units, taking into account necessary confidentiality and reporting obligations.
The development of preventive and corrective measures to mitigate identified risks is carried out within the framework of duties and responsibilities.
The child's safety, privacy, and best interests are paramount in the reporting process.
